Christi Mertens

Christi contributes to MacPhie as a strategic advisor. With an extensive background leading award-winning marketing programs, her centre of gravity comes from unlocking insights and opportunities that create results.  She is best known for coaching leaders through strategic decisions, considerations around their operating model, and importantly personal growth. 

Christi has developed a methodology for creating high-performing teams that works every time to help leaders unleash their team’s ability to deliver results more effectively.  Core to building a high-performing team is evolving how teams behave, act, make decisions, or utilize systems and processes.  The approach combines behaviour science with best practices in adult learning – helping each participant incrementally stack small, desirable habits over time, resulting in profound outcomes for the team and organization.

Christi has previously held leadership positions within global creative agencies, Ogilvy and Anderson DDB, as well as locally with Sunnybrook Foundation.   She has worked in Canada and the U.S. supporting several blue-chip corporations and not-for-profits across industries such as engineering and construction, healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, insurance, agricultural, industrial manufacturing, international development, IT, auto assistance, and CPG.

Christi is a Prosci certified change practitioner and certified ACE executive coach. She practices her skills daily – outside of the office – getting her two kids to grow and change their own behaviour. Christi graduated Magna Cum Laude B.S. Communications, Minor in Business Administration from The University of Tennessee.
