Poojani Ruwanpura

Poojani is a dynamic professional who approaches every task with passion and enthusiasm, infusing a contagious energy that amplifies the team’s spirit. Leveraging her extensive research background, Poojani brings a highly analytical perspective to visualizing data and deriving insights. She has a keen interest in the cultivation of high-performing teams, strategy, and brand positioning, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Poojani holds a Master’s of Clinical Science in Applied Health Sciences from Western University, specializing in the determinants of health and health equity. Her Master’s focused on understanding the influence of social, cultural, and environmental factors on health and well-being, and while also providing valuable insights into Canada’s healthcare systems and hospitals. Throughout her studies, she has developed a diverse skill set, including proficiency in project management, critical thinking, research methods, and critical appraisal of health literature. Poojani also holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University.

Prior to joining MacPhie, Poojani served as a research assistant in the Biomedical Engineering department at the University of Guelph. Drawing on her research skills, she assisted in the exploration and proposal of a new method for automated myocardial delineation of extra-cellular volume (ECV) maps using convolutional neural networks. 

Outside of work, you’ll often find her on her daily stroll with her puppy, Benito the Bernedoodle. Always eager for new experiences, she is an avid traveler, constantly seeking exciting destinations, and spending many weekends exploring Toronto’s restaurant scene with friends.
