Emma Rowland
Emma is passionate about co-creating business strategy while leveraging effective decision-making processes to help organizations achieve their goals. With a wide variety of frontline experience in healthcare and community-based organizations, she brings a client-centered approach to form meaningful connections and effectively support teams with defining their direction.Â
Emma is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Applied Health Sciences at Western University, where she is furthering her knowledge of health leadership, systems, and policy. This degree has provided her with the knowledge, skills, and tools to lead system-level change to help organizations grow and flourish. At MacPhie, Emma is currently using this knowledge to develop innovative strategic plans for a community hospital and a Canadian College. Â
Emma holds an Honours Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from McMaster University. Throughout her studies, she has refined her research and communication skills which allow her to clearly articulate complex information and ideas in a way that is meaningful for organizations.
Prior to MacPhie, Emma worked in the home care and social service sectors engaging within a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care to clients and identify areas for improvement within organizations. Recently, Emma has helped lead an organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic by leveraging evidence-based research, developing and revising organizational policies and utilizing critical analysis to make complex decisions.Â
Outside of work, Emma enjoys anything that gets her outdoors and active, including hiking, rock climbing, and snowboarding. She is also an avid world traveler who enjoys exploring and learning about new cultures. When she is not outdoors or exploring, you can find Emma at home enjoying time with her husband and cat.Â
