Elissa Gurman

As a Principal at MacPhie, Elissa helps organizations strengthen their leadership, culture, teams, and strategies—especially in times of change. She supports leaders in finding their voice, navigating tough dynamics, and leading with clarity.

With a PhD and a background in academia, she is skilled at making complex ideas clear, facilitating learning, and communicating with purpose. Today, she brings that same energy to her consulting work—engaging groups, supporting strategic thinking, and helping leaders lead with confidence.

Her experience spans sectors including post-secondary, healthcare, consumer packaged goods, and professional services. She’s known for building trust quickly, arriving at creative solutions, and making difficult conversations easier. Above all, she cares deeply about her work and brings authenticity, empathy, and clarity to every session she leads.

Outside of work, Elissa enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She loves to cook, read novels, take long walks, and catch live theatre—occasionally even performing in a musical herself.
