At MacPhie, we give our co-ops the opportunity to work on real projects and make an impact right from the start. Our co-ops come from all backgrounds and bring their diverse skills to introduce fresh ideas to us and our clients.

Talia Shapiro
As an intern at MacPhie, Talia had the opportunity to support her team members in client engagements, business development and internal initiatives. Using qualitative research, she helped develop strategic plans and marketing plans to help organizations set their future directions. She additionally assisted her team during facilitations and focus groups.
Talia is currently pursuing a degree in Communication Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, and is looking forward to finishing her last year and seeing where her future takes her.

- What did you find most enjoyable about your experience at MacPhie?
I loved the culture of the firm. I was excited to wake up and go to work everyday because the team was so amazing to work with. Everyone brings a positive energy and a can-do attitude to the firm, which helped us collaborate and be engaged in our work. From the beginning I was treated as a valued member of the team and was encouraged to contribute and share my insights. - Do you feel you were challenged in your role at MacPhie?
Definitely! Due to our fast paced environment and small team, I had the opportunity to take on different roles. No client engagement was ever the same, so I was constantly learning new approaches and solutions. - What was the most valuable thing you learned at MacPhie?
How to be “brilliantly simple”. MacPhie has taught me the importance of taking the complex, uncovering the insights and transforming it into something simple. This is such a valuable skill to have in the consulting world! - What was your most memorable experience at MacPhie?
Our quarterly planning day session for the firm. This day was all about collaboration as our team all got together for the entire day and sat around the whiteboard brainstorming ideas. It was amazing how much we could accomplish when we worked together – I really saw our culture come to life that day. - What have you been up to since you left MacPhie? / What plans do you have moving forward?
I look forward to returning to Laurier in the fall for my last year. Prior to my co-op term I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after graduation. Working at MacPhie has helped me grow professionally and find my passion for consulting! Without this experience I would have never considered consulting and I am excited to see where it takes me.
