As an inquisitive mind, Michael is curious – and relentless – in his approach to seek out solutions. He sees the big picture and undertakes a logical process to uncover data-driven insights.
Michael is a fourth year Honours Business Administration student from Wilfrid Laurier University. His unique academic and extracurricular experience has allowed him to immediately become a valued member of the MacPhie team. At Laurier, Michael has completed a variety of business strategy courses, helping him to hone his business writing skills and critical thinking ability. Michael also is actively involved at university. Experiences such as volunteering as an Orientation Week Leader, 5 Days for the Homeless Volunteer and House Council Representative have helped Michael excel in collaborative working environments.
Prior to MacPhie, Michael completed work terms at PepsiCo Beverages Canada and Loblaw Digital. At PepsiCo, Michael supported the Sales Strategy team through sales reporting, product volume forecasting and ad-hoc analysis. Within the Marketing department at Loblaw Digital, Michael supported the online grocery business through marketing campaign analytics. Through these past co-op experiences, Michael has developed his ability to see meaningful insights within the data, and clearly present strategic recommendations to his team. With two terms of analytical experience under his belt, Michael is eager to diversify his skills at MacPhie.
Outside of work, Michael loves to stay active. He played competitive hockey growing up and looks for any opportunity to get back on the ice. In his spare time, Michael enjoys working out and keeping up-to-date with his favourite music artists. Looking forward, Michael is excited to finish up his final year at university – after which he has plans to travel to Europe and Southeast Asia.
