Jesse Finn

Jesse loves strategic communications because nothing compares to conveying an idea to an audience on their own terms and providing a message that they can engage with. He especially loves bringing this philosophy to reputation management, specifically through the lens of public affairs. Strategic changes on a provincial and national level are driven more and more by the connection between a wide set of stakeholders and government and Jesse loves putting his creative communications hat on to help stakeholders navigate this complex world.

Jesse has helped define the corporate narrative and business-line value propositions for the Canadian division of a Fortune 20 company, he has designed and executed a national public affairs campaign for a national industry association, and he has supported a department of the provincial government with internal communications strategy.

At MacPhie, Jesse also leads research and strategy engagements for clients in the public and not for profit space. He is a pioneer of MacPhie’s “plan on a page” which is a simple – and efficient – way of presenting a strategic plan that is easy to understand, while providing the greatest value for money to our clients.

Prior to joining MacPhie in 2012, Jesse served as a Recruitment Officer for Wilfrid Laurier University. This role included engaging with students and parents across Ontario to express the brand of Wilfrid Laurier University and attract students to enrol.

Jesse holds a BA with Distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University’s Department of History and has continued his education at the University of Toronto, where he has earned a Certificate in Project Management and is currently working towards a Certificate in Strategic Public Relations.

Outside of work, Jesse mentors university undergraduates through his membership in the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and enjoys play-testing board games for Academy Games.
